Marine & Port Applications

Innovative ways to improve Energy Efficiency

Shaft Generator and Modernization

A shaft generator is typically used in maritime applications to generate electrical power on ships. It is connected to the ship’s main propulsion shaft and uses the rotation of the shaft to generate electricity. This electrical power can be used to supply the ship’s onboard systems, including lighting, navigation equipment, and other electrical devices, reducing the need for separate generators or engines to produce electricity.

Shaft generators are efficient and environmentally friendly because they can utilize the kinetic energy of the ship’s propulsion system to generate power, reducing the consumption of fuel and emissions. They are especially common on larger vessels like container ships and cruise liners where there is a significant need for electrical power.

A shaft generator’s application is to generate electricity for onboard use on ships by harnessing the rotational energy of the ship’s main propulsion shaft.

● Inline and parallel shaft generator applications
● PTO(Power Take Out) mode for electrifying Ship’s consumers and upgrading existing vessels
● PTH ( Power Take Home) for in use as electrical motor of shaft generator and supplying propeller when disconnected main engine
● Boost Mode (Power Take In) for in use as electrical motor of shaft generator and boosting main engine
